Hiroshi Kajiyama was appointed as Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry in October 2019 and also assumed the roles of minister in charge of industrial competitiveness, minister for economic cooperation with Russia, minister in charge of the response to the economic impact caused by the nuclear accident, and minister of state for special missions (nuclear damage compensation and decommissioning facilitation corporation). Since first winning election in 2000, Kajiyama has also held other posts including that of State Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and Minister of State for Regional Revitalization and Regulatory Reform.
