MINISTER IN CHARGE OF ADMINISTRATIVE REFORM, JAPAN
KONO Taro is an eight-term member of the House of Representatives. He has been Minister for Administrative Reform and Regulatory Reform in the Suga Government since September 16, 2020. Other positions Taro has held include: minister of defense; foreign minister; chairman of the National Public Safety Commission; minister of the national police organization; and minister for administrative reform. Taro is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and served as the chairman of the Japan Race Horse Association and of the Shonan Bellmare Football Club.
